On 24th April 2026, Sathiya Welfare Society organised a Community Awareness Campaign on Social Issues and Entitlements at the Government Middle School in Village Chichdhana, Gram Panchayat Sarad, Betul Block. The aim was simple: help deprived and vulnerable families understand their rights and reach the welfare schemes meant for them. Villagers, women, adolescents, children, Community Resource Persons and local stakeholders all took part. People asked questions directly about pensions, Ayushman cards, labour registration and documents. The camp saw a total participation of 105 community members, 62 were helped in Ayushman registration, 37 were supported with Sambal registrations and 6 got documentation and counselling support.

Pre-camp activities to make community ready

Before the camp, our team including program lead, MIS coordinator and local CRP went door to door to tell households about the date and explain which documents to bring, such as the Aadhaar Card and Samagra ID.

We worked closely with Panchayat representatives, ASHA workers and Anganwadi workers to identify eligible families. Members of the Jagruk Nagrik Manch helped in outreaching to the maximum community members.

Coordination meeting with district health officials

Pamphlets with the camp details reached every household, and public announcements (munadi), made with the Panchayat’s support, reached families we could not meet in person.

Families now know more about social security schemes, legal rights, child protection, safe migration and women’s rights. The camp also built trust between villagers and the people who provide services.

Events like this show that when information and support come to the village, people can claim their entitlements with confidence. Sathiya Welfare Society will keep working with Dalit and Adivasi communities in Betul to make that happen.
